clarification on several mistypes etc in the Ohio Spring Special. the info on heat money for short heats. if 7 dogs or less, will pay heatmoney. Will pay entry fee amount ( 25$ times # of dogs,) minus 50$. like 6 dogs would pay 150$ minus 50$. or 100$ in heat money. So as little as three dogs would still pay some heat money. ( 25$) open AA entry should read + $10. entry for AA open is $35. Re-entry is $25. Entry for open A, and open B is $25. any dog, in any claim class who receives 60 or more claims will then automatically receive %50 of all claims on that dog. Also each claim dog owner will receive two free claims. Those claims will not be activated or posted until at least one non-owner claim is made on that dog. semis in open or claim AA, A may be divided with as few as 5 or 6 dogs. any dog winning a double final will receive a trophy and additional $250.00 in the open or grade finals. the tree judge may review video of tree action prior to awarding flags. Flags will only be awarded to winners in the designated winners circle. both line and tree. the winners circle will be away from the tree circle, and catchers shouldnt approach the judge, but go to winners circle and wait for judge to present flags. If you think you might have qualified, please do go to that circle so you will receive fair consideration. we will try hard to "get it right". also, anyone who does try to influence a judge by voice or action under the tree will trigger automatic cancelation of 2nd tree in that race, or 2nd line depending on which judge is approached. this includes loss of Heat or final money, or advancement in semi. That dog knocked out may re-enter. if two or more catchers involved then both trees canceled for that race. As always catchers will need to stay in box till dogs enter the circle, then they may come out into catch area, but no catchers in tree circle till judge has his decision. Judge will signal that hes got two trees by short blast of whistle. We will have two or more tree judges for the weekend, but only one at a time, also two line judges, one at a time. if catcher needs to catch or seperate, they may step into circle and remove dog. judge will make effort to honor clean tree coming, or clean trees in the circle around the tree. so catchers can leave the box when first dog enters the 20 ft outer tree area, knows tree decisions are made when he hears whistle from judge, collects his dog and goes to winners circle if he thinks he may have qualified to wait for judge to present flags. Judge will check video if he wants, then proceed to circle to award winners. Winners will take flags to the field marshall at winners stand to be recorded as race winners and for photos. we encourage owners to catch if they wish, as there will be no pushing, shoving or unsportsmanshipe under the tree. not to worry, we will go over this at the race, and make sure its clear and easy to follow. in the claimAA,A finals the payoff will be $300 for line in the line final and $ 300 for tree in the tree final, 2nds will be $150 accordingly. slo there is no grade D in the green pot race. The phone # for Super 8 may have change please call information. thanks an look forwar to seeing you all. any questions call Bob at 918-327-6670

Have had several calls about the $100 finals pool. I dont know anything about the rules, and have nothing to do with entering. Whoever is in charge, if they can let everyone interested know , so they can get in touch with you and enter if they want. dont know if there is more than one or what.

The line pool was a one day deal that consisted of taking a dog that you tht would graduate and you still had to pay regardless if dog was there or in the final and was closed as of that night. Sure there will b lot more pools to b had

I see that the judge can review the video to "get it right". Do I as an owner or handler have the right to " throw a challenge flag " per say if I dont agree with the judges decision....

From Mr. Masons clarification, it only looks like questioning a decision may get the entire heat, semi, or final canceled. Doesn't say anything about the offender; just canceling chances of anybody winning anything.

jaybyrd- sure. sol2- sounds like you might want to read the the "clarification again, asthere was nothing in there about questioning a decision. as usual im trying to keep the catchers and confusion to a minimum under the tree, have honest paid judges with access to video playback. but if you think standing there screaming "stay back" has been really effective. dont know when that was. Just want everyone to have an honest equal chance, to win. and i dont want to be the bad guy, so someone interfers under the tree and the other catchers can help him remember next time. if handlers just respect others rights under the tree, everything will be fine, thanks bob

denny congers # is 330-477-3555. also rommerwin, did you get answers to anything that wasnt clear? the tree thing is really simple, only change is that catchers take dogs to winners circle to get winners flag, rather than under the tree. and the judge blows a whistle when he has both trees. not complicated or hard. I think it will help things go smoothly. thanks bob

Clarification does not answer my question. I never said approaching or yelling at a judge. I think with all these rules there should be some accountability for your judges also. I think the way to control your circle is to be involved as a field marshal/sponsor not totally changing the way things are done just my opinion. By video taping the tree you are asking for a whole other can of worms to be opened. Both from ppl who win and ppl who lose.....

You know what this race needs is more drama!! How bout just run some dogs and have fun

Post by bobmason on Apr 17, 2013 1:12:23 GMT -5
jayyd--- cant follow that, not reasonable. you want judge accountability and then complain about video taping? you say im not involved because i change things. what better definition of involved could there be?? and as far as "totally changing the way things are done" no idea what that means. be glad to discuss ideas and answer questions with you or anyone. but that isnt reasonable. Sounds like you just dont like or agree with what im trying to accomplish. im trying to put this race on and make it as fair, honest and enjoyable for all. everybody special and everybody equal. So ill add one thing to what jlb71 said, 'how bout just run some dogs and have fun, OR STAY THE HELL HOME!! Bob.

I didnt see the "sure" in the reply to my question so my rant about accountablity dont make sense...... i never said you werent involved it was a general statement on how to make the tree situation better at every race. No just yours so dont take things so personal. Trying to help the sport makes sense to everyone but not everyone is gonna agree with how you go about it and taking it personal dont help make the sport better

no problem Jason. all is good. had some questions about where to run dogs, what class. Most questions were really choices, as dogs are elgible and could be entered in several classes. The Grade C is open to any green dog. this isnt necessarily a gr gr type class. Last year some really good dogs entered there. so you shouldnt expect to run there and get an easy heat necessarily. The OPEN A can be any dog that hasnt won an open final at a 2 day race in a year. only two day races count. re-entry ----- if a dog loses its heat, it can be re-entered in any class that it is elgible for. ie, losing dogs in heats can start over in the re-entries. Losing re-entry dogs can only run in consolation finals in class that they lost the re-entry in. there will be one main tree judge and one primary line judge , but we will have 5 additional tree judges and 2 additional paid line judges who will judge 5 races on sat and 5 races on sunday each. This will help keep things moving better, and spread the joy so to speak. again, please contact tracy or others about the pools. these are fun and should be exciting but the sponsor isnt involved, except to make sure the judges decisions line up with the videos, and we avoid conflict of interests as much as possible. Which we will do, and anyone found trying to influence one of our judges, will be turned over to Fred, whats left of them. nite

just a note on the pools, again the race itself doesnt have envolvement with the pools. I understand that Tracy is still accepting dogs, the $100 pool is closed, but i understand there may be several more open sat morning, and heard some discussion on another to be started after the re-entries. Sounds like fun. We will be having the drawing for the Cash Jar again. not sure how much was in that last year, but quite a bit. The drawing will be from the Gate passes. Doug and Fred will put your $6 gate pass in the container with your name on the back. Additional chancescan be purchased from them or Marilyn for $2.50. the drawig will be held while dogs are being re-entered on Sat. There will also be a 50/50 with the drawing being held right after the semi-s on sun. we will be leaving for coshocton on sunday, should be on grounds by mon pm. So any questions come up let me know by phone. 918-327-6670.
