I'll start this off with--- Three video cameras two people to review the footage! Need to change this to--(Honest) My personal pick would be Danny Ripple

That would work sometimes but i have seen alot of videos of under the tree and you still cant tell who barked when everyone runs in the circle the main thing is to keep people back until two dogs are picked. the video on the line would work especially when you get those heats where about eight people go to line and try to confuse the judge.

I sorta visualize the cameras being in the tree focused on covering the circle! And the several people going to the line judge trying to confuse the judge ? Sounds like you think some one would try to get a vote when they knew they didn't have one comming!!

Ok cameras........ three under the tree two at the line..... sounds good that will stop some of the bitching. Hmmmm.... no probably not. Who is gonna buy all the cameras? Who is gonna set them up at every race? Who is gonna operate these cameras for every heat, re up, ect? You Fred? A sponsor has plenty to deal with at a race without having to worry about having instant replay like the NFL.

Cameras would be in the tree focused on and covering the circle -- I am making suggestions on how to improve the voting system-- Take the crooks out-- No one has suggested these are good ideas or that they would work! all I've seen is Who why and what No other suggestions Telling me the majority like the system being broke --It works for them!

well its certainly not rocket science operating cameras and with todays technology its actually pretty simple. Even someone from Michigan could run them. And what would it hurt if someone was willing to do it and/or even provide the equipment? Personally I dont know if it would work under the tree but no reason to bash it and say it wouldnt.

just who is this majority ? camera on the line was used in the early 80's.just happen to know the guy that ran it at most 2 day trials. i'll take his word on how it could benifit field trials rather than others opinions

Field trialers that don't like the way it is are welcome to take the pad at races.I hear there is no charge for volunteering .Races are advertised in the book ,computer, and by word of mouth. May be time for the so called minority to put up or shut up if they could find the time to attend races.

Since nobody else has listed anyone I will list 2 people that should judge more often 1. Dick Nixon 2.Duck Collins HAve seen both in action and both doing outstanding, honest jobs! Side note on the camera thing-when they were used it did somewhat work but it was in black and white and there were times when shadows and dogs perfectly sandwiched in came into play. With todays technology and if in color I'm sure would be better.

There are a lot of good guys that judge. We just came home from Iowa and Duck judged all weekend did a triffic job. A few others from our way that do a out standing job are Dale Tucker, Jimmy Potts, Tim Sprague, Butch Jones. Im always happy to see Ben and Bill judging also. Lots of good judges its the catchers that make there job hard.

Really appreaciate the feed back By post 11 and 12 The one I like the best is from a sponsor that does a lot of Trials in post 10 If a person doesn't like how the judging is done take a pad and change it! Exactly the kind of reply expected from the person we all rely on to get honest judges that will judge our dogs honestly and equally!!

Just telling it like it is. Post #26 in the Judging at Two Dayers really spells it out for those that won't take a pad

I ask for reliable tree judges You give a bunch of shit about people who don't take a pad I would think those people are telling you they can't judge but you want them anyway Do you have questionable tree dogs and if you get unreliable judges you can badger them into voting the way you want? I'll take a pad and you'll get a blank pad everytime Why? because I can't judge !!

Looks like I hit a touchy subject with the Crazyolandpalanner. Must be feeling guilty about something. Sure they probaly can't judge from inside the fence so why should we have to hear what they say when they judge from outside the fence ?

I rarely go to the tree area anymore So have no comments about good or bad judges or tree dogs I don't judge under the tree sure as hell wouldn't judge from the fence I can't even judge my own dogs--- I think they win everytime just don't get the vote---Yep I am the one you can screw the easiest !

I'm seeing some back peddling here. Since you admit in your previous post that you rarley go to the tree and don't judge from the fence all your information about how bad the judging is must be hearsay from unreliable sources and is deemed fraudulent material and is to be thrown out and ignored.

1st you need someone tall enought to see the dogs.someone like me couldn't see over the catchers.Personally I like the colored collars, you don't have to worry about a catcher sticking his number in your face.and make them stay back which is somethinga taller than me man could do.also if I judged line and someone got in my face and yelled at me I would probably hit him or her.I have seen several good judges as a general rule most are. There are times when stuff happens.I don't try to 2nd guess the judges as I am not standing where they are. There have been times when mistakes are made. The line is easier to figure out than tree so I will shut up.

All aperson has to do to know there is something isn't right under the tree is check the board-- There are only two spots to qualify dogs, first and second, so if two dogs are tied for first there is no second They have the two spots filled! Not with this sport ! there can be three tied for first and three tied for second qualifing six dogs in two spots. As for post I asked for qualifyed tree judges --Those that others thought would be honest! The sponsors must not have any idea what that means. The two most often sponsors have offered one person! I assume that means there are not going to be any attempt to make sure the tree dog gets a fair judgment! If no one has heard the complaints about the tree judging They are either deaf or flat ignore them! I hear them and don't have to attend a trial!

Hey there Fred you can go ahead and use the names. It's Rob Whelchel and Todd Bright. What qualifies anyone as being a reliable judge ? just because PEOPLE say there are ? Those two sponsers you are jealous of probaly do hear the whinning and crying just as everyone else does but you may want to remember they are standing under the tree as well and when they see a wrong they make it right. Probaly have did more good for field trialing by accident than the illusionist who just want to talk about it have. Sometimes people just have to do what I had to do years ago when I never had a chance of winning before I left the house. GET BETTER RACE DOGS AND DON'T PUT SO MUCH STOCK IN WHO OR WHAT THEY BEAT AT HOME.May want to try this saying out for a while Fred. CELEBRATE SUCCESS EVEN IF IT'S NOT YOUR OWN. BITTERNESS IS A COLD LONELY ROAD.

By the way Fred, I guess since you hear about these things without attending a trial they must be true. I wouldn't want to think that I as a sponser would listen to the ACTIVE FIELD TRIALERS who go every weekend . Please send me your guide to field trialing hand book so the circuits I am involved with can thrive like the few you have be associated with. Let me see now what are the names of those circuits ?
