This turned out to be a good venue to hold the meeting, all that attended had a good time and if your looking for somewhere to eat when going to any of the iron bridge races this is a good one and fair prices. Lots of changes for the new year, lets hope they are all for the better. I didnt take notes(thats what the sec/tres is for) she will update all the rules and will have them if you want a copy. some I remember were= for sponsoring races. In order to sponsor a race you must be a paid member. when you have a race and use our rules you must go by all our rules no exceptions except you can raise the money payouts, otherwise all rules must be followed. when you sponsor a wpa race the circuit gets half of the gate if we pay for the grounds rental the circuit gets the 50/50 at all wpa races a few issues that came up in the past= dogs must be claimed before truck leaves the first time(in the cases where the final blows and has to be rerun) any dog that qualifies line/tree and is eligible for both finals must pick one or the other, cant run in both
there is a gr/gr class with $5 entry fee no pay back. any dog that is a no final green dog can run in it.(same as eofta) in reups dogs can move up or down from gr to gr/gr and vise versa
There was a new class added "the R class" (didnt want to call it retirement class) as there is no age restriction for it. how it will work=any dog many run in it. There will be a heat only ran for these dogs, you pay the normal entry fee and a 90% payout will be split among the winners. ONCE YOU ARE ENTERED IN THIS CLASS IN THE WPA CIRCUIT THIS IS WHERE YOU MUST RUN ALL YEAR! The class was not desigined to be abused! But for dogs that people maybe dont want to put in claimers,or loose them,or for maybe some of those"tweeners" or dogs that are sitting at home that could still run their owners dont want them in a claiming calss. Will it work? time will tell. just wanted to give it a try,and all present voted yes. you can enter a dog in this class at any point in the year but once there you stay. will keep track of whos in there. If it just doesnt seem to work and gets scraped then of cource dogs can run then where they are legal.
who knows might get some that wouldnt be normally run that are at home and might be some good payouts.
P.s. welcome back to field trialing Ron Merwin he came down and went home with 2 dogs. Nice guy, glad your comming back!

I like the "R" class always thought would be a good idea plus I usually have a few retirees around that still like to run.
