no I would say it has more to do with the fact that most people from out east dont go there so why should they all have to sit at home? just guessing.

It was decided years ago that the EOFTA would or could draw dates against any races west of Columbus. For the following reasons: Very few the EOFTA trialers travel west to races and the EOFTA nearly never draws dogs from west of Columbus. So how is Lori being negative this time?

i'll bet other circuits have races that day too. I'm sure that wont be the only 2 dayer weekend that has circuit races against them, some have to face the facts too many and people cant afford all the travaeling when they can have a circuit race near home one day.

I also remember when 2 dayer race sponsors use to pay circuits not to have a race on their date that doesnt happen anymore except I think silver dollar pays eofta maybe that needs to be reimplimented.

Trooper is exactly right, Silver Dollar is the only 2 dayer that pays up, That would be an excellent way to keep circuits from drawing against you.

we pay as much as we can for all the people that come, and i appriciate the ones who do come. we wish we could pay more. its ok, but i remember going to osbornes races alot but if u dont have dog power we dont. but i am not saying anything to the rest of you....

in reply to post #9. If other circuits choose to so be it. But just an educated guess..... the original races, being ross'2,silver dollar, mud road, union county pa, angelos(now Landons) coshocton, dont get bucked because of just that they have been running for 50 plus years at most of them. The non-established races that just started are just that non-established. as far as memorial weekend there was always one that weekend till new commerstown grounds were lost and the now sponsor MFW is taking over for his dad who always was a sponsor of that weekend.I remember a time running in the mufta circuit where for years and years the only 2 dayers not bucked were Ross' 3,hell we had our 2 biggests races of the year crump and pinnconning against silver dollar! not everyone can afford or wants to go to 8 2 dayers in 10 weeks time. and it being spring time and everyone wanting to run I guess your gonna see more circuit races for people to enjoy!

To answer your questions regarding the April 3rd date, when Ben Smith called for available dates, the 3rd of April was listed as being the race out in Iowa, so they picked that date. Now the big races have changed dates around so I do not know what Mingo will do in regard to the April 3rd date.
In answer to the big race date question, last year three (3) races paid for their race date and dues for their affiliation with EOFTA. Silver Dollar, Jason Moore (April ) and Bob Moore (September).

CHANGE IN EOFTA SCHEDULE:
APRIL 3 - DELETE FROM CALENDAR
APRIL 10 - MINGO SPORTSMAN (DICK NIXON ORIGINALLY HAD THIS DATE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO HAVE RACE SINCE BOLIVAR GROUNDS WERE UNAVAILABLE ON THIS DATE)
